Afghan Authorities Block Lawyer from Visiting Jailed Christian

ISTANBUL, December 9 (CDN) — A Christian in Afghanistan facing “apostasy” charges punishable by death is still without legal representation after authorities blocked a foreign lawyer’s attempt to visit him in prison, sources said. A Christian lawyer from the region who requested anonymity travelled to Kabul on behalf of Christian legal rights organization Advocates International two weeks ago to represent 45-year-old Said Musa (alternatively spelled Sayed Mossa). Authorities denied him access to Musa and to his indictment file.

International Effort Brings Attention to Gao Zhisheng’s Case

ChinaAid Association (OSLO -- Dec. 8, 2010) On International Human Rights Day this Friday, Dr. Liu Xiaobo will be awarded with the Nobel Peace Prize at a ceremony in Oslo. President of ChinaAid Bob Fu was given the honor of an invitation to attend the ceremony. Although many will travel from across the globe to attend the ceremony, the honored guest, Dr. Liu, will be continuing his 11-year prison sentence in a dark cell in China.
