I have a very special affinity for Christian radio because the Lord has used it in my life to minister to me in so many countless ways. So when I read this story over at Mission Network News this morning, I knew I had to share it with you.

“The life of man is a continual death, unless it be that Christ lives in him.”

ISTANBUL, December 9 (CDN) — A Christian in Afghanistan facing “apostasy” charges punishable by death is still without legal representation after authorities blocked a foreign lawyer’s attempt to visit him in prison, sources said. A Christian lawyer from the region who requested anonymity travelled to Kabul on behalf of Christian legal rights organization Advocates International two weeks ago to represent 45-year-old Said Musa (alternatively spelled Sayed Mossa). Authorities denied him access to Musa and to his indictment file.

The Pakistan Christian Post is reporting that tomorrow, Dec. 10th the "Pakistani Christian Association in America and other organizations in New York will stage protest in front of Pakistani Consulate in New York at 10.00 AM, on December 10, 2010, for immediate release of Asia Bibi and repeal of blasphemy law."

Havovi Cooper is a Pakistani writer over at The Huffington Post and she has written a very interesting article, titled Asia Bibi and Pakistan's Selective Persecution.

ChinaAid Association (OSLO -- Dec. 8, 2010) On International Human Rights Day this Friday, Dr. Liu Xiaobo will be awarded with the Nobel Peace Prize at a ceremony in Oslo. President of ChinaAid Bob Fu was given the honor of an invitation to attend the ceremony. Although many will travel from across the globe to attend the ceremony, the honored guest, Dr. Liu, will be continuing his 11-year prison sentence in a dark cell in China.

Every day I am both inspired and grieved by the stories I read of fellow believers who die for their faith in Christ. I'm inspired because it shows the reality of their faith, the reality of what God's word clearly teaches, and also the reality of the hate the world has towards Christ.

We've been focusing a lot on Asia Bibi and the death sentence hanging over her head, but we have failed to focus on this dear pastor who is also going through a similar thing.
