“You are lying!” Lieutenant Grecu screamed at the imprisoned pastor, Richard Wurmbrand. “Tell us the truth about your Christian activities and about others in your church! Here, you must write out for me all the rules that you have broken in the prison.”

Of late, I am reminded of the importance of an intimate relationship with Christ. I find myself in a privileged position to learn what our brothers and sisters in chains are experiencing. I cannot help but look at their challenges, especially the wives of martyred believers who in the midst of great grief stand faithful in their relationship with Jesus Christ. These faithful believers have such a deep understanding of the price that their loved ones have paid for their belief in Jesus Christ. They have such an intimate relationship with the Lord.

Today I had the opportunity to speak to the one and only Todd Nettleton from The Voice of the Martyrs.

"As for the Almighty, we cannot find Him; He is excellent in power, In judgment and abundant justice; He does not oppress. Therefore men fear Him; He shows no partiality to any who are wise of heart.”"(Job 37: 23-24)

On March 8, 1839, 168 years ago today, Phoebe Palmer was born. Phoebe Palmer was the writer of the music for the great famous hymn Blessed Assurance. Fanny Crosby wrote the words after hearing the music.

The following words were proclaimed from the scaffold prior to the death of John Dick who was arrested for treason by the Anglican Church. John Dick was a Covenanter and during the 1600's there was a struggle between the Anglican Church and the Covenanters. As a result of his arrest, he was sentenced to death on March 5, 1684.
