Note: This post was written yesterday but Typepad kept crashing and I wasn't able to post it.

In the past few weeks, I have been thankful and very excited because two persecuted brothers from China and Pakistan have been released from prison. On January 19, Shahbaz Kaka was released after serving six years of a life sentence, and on February 5, Liu Fenggang was released after serving three years in prison.

Today WorldNetDaily is highlighting a story about 4 Evangelists who were beaten for simply handing out gospel tracts.

INDIA – On Saturday, February 10, a 58-year-old Christian, S. Stanley, was stabbed and killed by rioting youth in front of his house in Pavaloor, Kerala State, India.

It is not until a man finds his faith opposed and attacked that he really begins to think about the implications of that faith. It is not until the church is confronted with some dangerous heresy that she begins to realize the riches and wonder of orthodoxy. It is characteristic of Christianity that it has inexhaustible riches, and that it can always produce new riches to meet any situation.

UPDATE – On Monday, February 5, 2007, Liu Fenggang was released after serving three years in prison. The well known house church leader expressed appreciation for the help his family received while he was in prison.
