For five years I have been telling BreakPoint listeners about the plight of Iraqi Christians. One of the oldest Christian communities in the world, one that prays in Aramaic just as our Lord did, has become the preferred target of all three of Iraq’s Muslim communities.

Azerbaijan (MNN) ? Christians across Azerbaijan live under the threat of government harassment. The country's religion laws can be harsh, imposing severe penalties on violators. Many church leaders encounter legal problems and jail time.

Today the International Concern Website has an update on a doctor who was persecuted for his Christian faith.

We know that Christians are being persecuted worldwide, but the sad reality is that the media rarely reports on the persecution of Christians and the enormity of the problem. Thankfully, there are other organizations that do keep track, as The Voice of the Martyrs does, and one such institute is The Middle East Media Research Institute.

On Nov. 5, The Voice of the Martyrs Canada reported 36-year-old Teklesenbet Gebreab Kiflom, a member of the Full Gospel Church died recently of malaria. Teklesenbet was detained for nearly a year at the Wi’a Military Confinement Centre in Eritrea.
