Almost seven years ago my mother died and today I was reminded of the day she took communion when she was baptized into Christ Jesus. She was buried with Christ and rose to walk in newness of life with Him. (Romans 7) It must have been a glorious moment in heaven when that happened. And while I did not get to witness my mother's baptism because she wanted only a few people there, I was blessed recently to get some photos of her being baptized that made me cry when I saw them.

Two bombs ripped through the St. Joseph church in western Baghdad at approximately 10:00 p.m. The next afternoon, three bombs exploded within 15 minutes of each other outside three different church buildings in Baghdad. That evening, a car bomb detonated outside a church building in the eastern region of the city. Minutes later, another bomb exploded outside a church building in Baghdad’s Dora district. Meanwhile on July 13, a car bomb detonated near Our Lady of Fatima Church in the city of Mosul.

In doing my research today, I came across this very interesting blog post written over at Atlas Shrugs. This is a stunning post when you look at all of the Christian persecution that has happened right here in America.

China Aid is reporting that yesterday, July 13 at 10:30 a.m. police raided a Christian youth camp and arrested 28 Christian youth and four adult church workers in Hubin town, Tengzhou city, Shandong province. Police threatened and beat the Christian youth. Five Christians who organized the camp are still being held by police and have been given 5-15 days administrative detention. Please pray for the Christian youth whom ChinaAid sources say are still in a state of shock.
