There is no doubt that anyone who doesn't hold the exact worldview of the Taliban is vulnerable to brutality at their hands. The Taliban kills wantonly - no matter what religion is held by their victims. But Christians specifically? I don't think that is much of an issue here, simply because they don't exist.In Iraq, Christians make up about 2% of the population. A tiny minority, to be sure, but it is possible to find Christian churches in some places there. But as far as I can ascertain, there isn't one single organized Christian church in Afghanistan.

Forum 18 News reports that on Aug. 20, New Life Full Gospel Church in Minsk, Moscow, was issued an eviction notice by government officials, forcing them to abandon their church building purchased in 2002.

If you read this blog regularly, then you know we talk about Christian persecution all of the time in India. This week marked the first anniversary of violent attacks on Christians by Hindu fundamentalists, as hundreds joined together, holding a candle light homage to remember these martyrs. I am really happy to report some good news today regarding a group of missionaries who were arrested in India earlier this month. According to a report from The Christian Telegraph, the workers were charged with "deliberate and malicious acts intended to outrage religious feelings of any class by insulting its religion or religious beliefs"

This story is tragic and really leaves me speechless when I consider the extent of what happened to this woman. The Assyrian International News Agency and International Christian Concern are reporting on the story of a pregnant Christian woman who was beaten and dragged naked through the Pakistan police station. The police knew she was pregnant and still treated her this way.

A few days ago ABC News covered the story of an Ohio teenager by the name of Rifqa Bary, who was raised in a Muslim home and recently came to faith in Jesus Christ. Rigqa claims her father wanted to kill her for converting, however the father's a lawyer denies these accusations and says that the Christians that Rifqa has met are the ones saying such things. Earlier this week The Christian Post reported a terrible story about 4 Christian workers who were beheaded in Somalia. Please take a moment right now to pray for the families left behind who lost their loved ones. And please let others know about what is happening to Christians who are standing firmly for their faith in Jesus Christ.
