As we remember the National Day of Prayer for America today, I wanted to share with you the prayer that is being offered on behalf of President Obama today by The Presidential Prayer Team, and then share with you some specific prayer requests for the church as a whole.

Today I wanted to remind you of one of the prisoners we are supporting in Vietnam. This is Pastor Y Wo Nie who has been imprisoned now for 2451 days, which is 6.7 years - his crime was leading a demonstration demanding more religious freedom and the release of property confiscated by the Vietnamese government. He received a nine-year sentence. His family has not been able to visit him.

Three Iranian believers were set free on Saturday, April 30, 2011 after 238 days in prison. A fourth believer who was arrested at the same time remains in custody. Arash Kermanjani and his wife, Arezou Teimouri, were at the home of Pastor Vahik Abrahamian and his wife, Sonia, when they were arrested together on Sept. 4, 2010.
