“Break him morally or destroy him physically!” The Turkmenistan bureaucrats had no more patience for this street preacher. Shageldy Atakov was offered his freedom under President Saparmurat Niyazov’s December 23, 2000, amnesty, provided he would swear the oath of allegiance to the president and recite the Muslim creed. Shageldy refused the amnesty again.

Yesterday I read this article at the Huffington Post and it is something that I think you may be interested in reading. Keep in mind as you read it, that the Huffington Post is extremely liberal and they typically do not find in favor of Christians, this article doesn't either, however since it mentions The Voice of the Marytrs, I want you to check it out.

In September 2007 Chinese government officials closed Alimujiang Yimiti’s business and accused him of using it as a cover up for “preaching Christianity among people of Uyghur ethnicity.” He was later arrested in January 2008 and accused of “subversion of the national government and endangering national security,” a crime punishable by death. Alimujiang, a former Muslim, became a Christian more than 10 years ago and has been an active Christian in the growing Uyghur church.

I'm not sure about you, but I am very concerned about the United States relationship with China especially since I know for a fact that China allows Christians to be persecuted in that country. My husband is so passionate about those abuses that he does his best to not buy anything made in China, even though at times, it can be very hard.
