A few days ago WorldNetDaily highlighted the plight of Christians being persecuted by Muslims in their Faith Under Fire section. As we have reported before, our brothers and sisters in Nigeria are suffering greatly because of their faith.

We have discussed the persecution happening in Egypt for quite some time, and today I wanted to share with you an article from the BBC where the Archbishop of Cantebury discusses the ethnic cleansing of Christians in that region.

Iran’s religious leaders continue to denounce Christianity in their speeches and meetings. In an April 2011 speech, Islamist hardliner Ayatollah Mohammad Taghi Mesbah Yazdi, who is known as a mastermind of the government’s strategy against Christians, called for greater government action against Christians in Iran. Yazdi admitted that government actions aimed at destroying Christianity have thus far failed.

Shaken and still feeling the effects from an attack on their service, Numseoul Presbyterian Church publicly forgave the men who attacked them on Wednesday, June 1, 2011. Armed with guns, the nephew of a former legislator, Muhammad Shoaib, and four other men disrupted the church service three days earlier. “They were just out of control,” Pastor Ashraf Masih told Compass Direct News. “Shoaib and his men broke the glass altar of the church, threw copies of the Bible towards the wall and desecrated the cross.” The gang also beat three elderly Christians with bamboo sticks.

Last week we highlighted prisoner Ms Li Ying and asked you to write a letter to encourage her. We started at 10901 letters written and as of today we show that 10909 encouraging letters have been written to Ms Li Ying. We are grateful for the 8 new letters that were sent to Ms Li Ying in the last week, because 8 is definitely better than zero! Praise God for your faithfulness to encourage the prisoners! I believe that every letter these dear prisoners receive, will encourage them in their faith. Thank you to those who have taken the time to write.
