Muslim groups are protesting a move by federal prosecutors that they say could have a chilling effect on religious freedom. Prosecutors moved to seize four mosques and other assets in the U.S. owned by a foundation accused of funneling money to Iran. It is extremely rare for the government to take over houses of worship. Federal officials said they are investigating the foundation, not worshipers or religious leaders.

On Oct. 14, Viktor, who was born in Kazakhstan but holds German citizenship, was found guilty of "carrying out missionary activity without local registration" under Article 375-3 of Kazakhstan’s Administrative Code. The charge is punishable by a fine and/or deportation for individuals who are not citizens. Viktor was fined a total of 6,480 Tenge (US $43) and ordered deported. He successfully appealed his sentence, and his fine and deportation have been annulled. Believers think his appeal was successful because the government realized he was not a missionary.

In news closer to home regarding at the very least, discrimination towards Christians, we have a story that has been reported in the BBC, The Wall Street Journal Blog and the New York Times saying that a judge in South Carolina has deemed a license plate with the words "I believe" and a cross and stained glass window are "unconstitutional".

We have an interesting story coming from the Christian Telegraph about how church services are being banned on Friday's because it's a day of prayer for those in Islam.

Compass Direct is reporting that around 40 Muslim extremists have attacked a worship service in Uganda, damaging the church and leaving at least one member of the church injured. Amazingly, no one was arrested.
