I was thinking about all of you who are so faithful in coming to this blog every day and every week and I was wondering what keeps you coming back to this blog?

If it's one thing I've learned writing about Christians who are being persecuted is that they are people of prayer and they are thankful to the Lord for the privilege of suffering for His precious name. So as we go into the Thanksgiving holiday tomorrow, will you please join me in praying for our suffering brothers and sisters in countries that do not have religious freedom.

Yesterday I was listening to Janet Parshall's America and she had Marvin Newell on talking about his new book called A Martyr's Grace: Stories of Those Who Gave All for Christ and His Cause and I was struck by how Newell came up with the title of the book. Apparently the title of the book came from a comment D. L. Moody made concerning a martyr's grace. So I got curious and decided to do a search on this, and sure enough this is what D.L. Moody says concerning a "marty'rs grace."

As most of you know yesterday was election day here in America. So as a good patriotic American I went to the polls and voted. When I arrived at my polling place there were 6 volunteers behind their tables just waiting for someone to show up. Then I arrived...

This morning during my devotional time I read 1Peter 5:5 which says, "Young men, in the same way be submissive to those who are older. All of you, clothe yourselves with humility toward one another, because, "God opposes the proud but gives grace to the humble." This is an amazing scripture especially when thinking about our persecuted brethren. The last few years, as I have been writing this blog, one thing that constantly amazes me is the humility of those who have been persecuted. In fact, I'd say that the persecuted church all over the world is a stellar example to us Western Christians of what true humility is like.

Since I just spent a whole day in a crowded room with about 1000 miserable looking people, I thought I'd share with you this conversation that I had with a juror who was sitting at a table reading her bible.

In the spirit of Bill O'Reilly's famous Most Ridiculous Item of the Day segment I just had to share that when you do a Google search on the term "christian persecution" this very blog comes up in the number 3 slot....ridiculous...I don't think so. :)

Last week my husband and I attended a "faith fund rally" for the Gideon's International, and the reason I'm sharing this is because it was very very cool to hear the gentleman, and I mean that in every sense of the word, come and share his testimony of handing out bibles in Myanmar (aka Burma).

I recently heard a speaker who is a legal scholar and a Christian from China. This man has helped farmers regain land illegally taken by corrupt officials, mobilized a recall and even sued the Chinese State Council.

The NY Times magazine published a very insightful article over the weekend, one that delves into the amount of control the Communist government exerts over Chinese users' internet experience.
