If you're not in Texas, you may not be aware of a series of seven churches that have been set on fire in the last three weeks. So I wanted to let you know about this and ask for your prayers for the fire officials and police officials involved in investigating the cause of these fires. Thankfully no person has been injured.

I have to tell you all that my heart leapt for joy when I read the responses to my post on picking a restricted nation to pray for this year. As you know, I'm starting the year praying for Libya. But what is even more cool is the countries you all said you were going to pray for. And don't worry, if you haven't yet picked a nation, you can do that today.

I wanted to let you all know about the latest with The Voice of the Martyrs Canada's Glenn Penner. Glenn remains hospitalized and was in the hospital during Christmas.

Today I wanted to ask everyone to please keep our friend Glenn Penner in your prayers. Glenn is suffering with cancer and also has a lot of side effects due to the cancer and various treatments. Right now he is in the hospital still in very severe pain. Glenn's wife Denita has updated his blog with the following. Please pray for Glenn and his whole family.

This morning I was talking to a friend who was telling me they were going to the Philippines soon and that got me thinking about how the Lord has used Filipino friends in my life to take me to church when I was younger. I also have a wonderful Filipino Christian neighbor who I absolutely love, and the culture of the Philippines is something I also love. So as I was thinking about all of the blessings that I have been given, as a result of my friends from that nation, I had to share with you all that sadly, there is a part of the Philippines called Mindanao that is suffering from Muslim persecution.

Our friends at Mission Network News are reporting this story today. Please prayerfully read the story and say a prayer for those in Pakistan, and also for Asher and his precious family.
