Churches Closed, Leaders Threatened

OAKLAND, Calif. (ABP) -- Four American Baptist mission volunteers were released Sept. 13 on $200 worth of bond after spending three nights in jail on suspicion of dispensing AIDS medication without a license in Zimbabwe.

This story coming from China Aid is both good news and bad news. The good news is our brother was released from prison after serving his whole term. The bad news is that he is not in good health. He was also tortured while in prison. Please say a prayer for brother Chen Guangcheng today.

One of the countries that we cover often is Indonesia, which is a restricted nation and needs our prayers. Just a reminder, Indonesia is about 80% Muslim and about 16% Christian.

My heart always grieves when I see children being abused, used for ill purposes and hurt by evil people. I do not think I will ever understand how anyone can hurt a child, and so this story really touches my heart. Sadly, Compass Direct is reporting about how four children have been kidnapped from their mother - so she could be released from the custody of her captors, after her Christian husband was martyred.
