CHINA – Eight human rights groups in China just released a joint statement to the Chinese government calling the government into account for “illegal exercise of police power and a rude violation of Chinese citizens’ personal freedom, right to properties, freedom of thought and basic human rights.” ChinaAid sources report that immediately after the statement was released, authorities reacted by targeting members of these groups for police interrogation. Below is the full text of the statement:

The China Aid Association and ASSIST News Service are reporting that, "Uyghur Christian, Alimujiang Yimiti, who has been arbitrarily detained at Kashgar, Xinjiang detention center for more than one year, was seen Tuesday morning around 10 a.m. (local time) at Nongsanshi (Military Farm) Hospital in Kashgar."The attorney for an imprisoned Uyghur Christian has called for a Chinese government investigation into circumstances surrounding the believer's recent hospitalization.If you'd like to write a letter on his behalf, click here for more information.

China Aid Association is asking for support for Pastor Lou Yuanqi as he is still being held in prison for charges of “utilizing superstition to undermine the law.” Sources say the real reason for the charge was to stop Lou’s house church from meeting in his home.

I've been following the story of plight of our sister Shuang Shuying for a while. Our friends at China Aid are reporting that she has since been released from prison and allowed to see her dying husband Hua Zaichen. I thank the Lord for this blessing for Shuang and I praise HIm for the testimony He has given to and through her and her husband.

BEIJING, Jan. 29 /Christian Newswire/ -- Hua Zaichen, 91, whom authorities have repeatedly denied a final meeting with his imprisoned wife Shuang Shuying 79, was hospitalized on January 28. Sources report that officials are fearful they will be held accountable for his death because of the international attention to this case. ChinaAid urges the international community to speak out for this elderly Christian couple whom authorities have treated with cruelty and injustice.
