A few days ago the world witnessed a modern day miracle when Pastor Youcef Nadarkhani, a man who was sentenced to death, walked out of his prison cell and into the arms of his wife and children. I still feel overwhelming joy as I type this.

With all the recent uprising in the Middle East over a recent film that discusses Islam, I thought it might be a good time to share with you about a great book that we have in our bookstore. We've shared about this book before and if you haven't read it yet, I really want to encourage you to get yourself a copy.

Pastor Youcef Nadarkhani was released from prison on Saturday, Sept. 8, after remaining in custody for nearly three years while fighting apostasy charges and a death sentence. Authorities dropped the apostasy charge and retained only a charge of evangelizing Muslims. For the lesser charge, he was sentenced to three years in prison and given credit for the two years and 11 months already served. With bail accepted for a 30-day early release, Youcef left the prison and was reunited with his wife, Fatemeh, and their two sons.

Middle East (MNN/SAT7) ? Egypt's Muslim Brotherhood has called for a nationwide peaceful demonstration today to condemn insults to Prophet Mohammad from an amateurish film.

Unidentified workers, backed by police and civil volunteers, tore down the Holy Trinity Pentecostal Church in east Moscow in the early morning hours of Sept. 6, then accused the pastor of holding an unapproved meeting for the worship service he led on the grounds of the destroyed church two days later. The workers came at midnight with bulldozers and diggers, looting the building of sound equipment, musical instruments, service books and Communion materials before using heavy equipment to demolish the structure. A church caretaker was taken to the police station and prevented from contacting church members for three hours.

Last Friday I had half of a day disruption of my internet service so I wasn't able to share with you on Friday about our weekly Persecution Podcast.Today, I wanted to make sure that you know that we posted Persecution Podcast #131 in which David and Dory shared prayer requests from Central Asia, Iran, Indonesia and Pakistan.
