The Voice of the Martyrs Enlists Support of Bloggers to Spread Information About Persecuted Christians
Christian non-profit group The Voice of the Martyrs (VOM) today launched what it calls the VOM Blogosphere Program to enlist bloggers in helping spread its message about the plight of persecuted Christians around the world.
(PRWEB) October 3, 2005 -- VOM's mission is to aid Christians around the world who are being persecuted for their faith in Christ and educate the world about the ongoing persecution of Christians. Now, they are tapping into the power of the blogosphere to enlist bloggers to help spread the message of persecuted believers around the globe.
VOM spokesperson Steve Cleary says, "Many people are not aware of the intensity with which Christians are undergoing persecution today, especially in many third-world countries. We believe enlisting bloggers to spread the message using this innovative approach will greatly help to increase awareness and foster support for VOM and its efforts to ease the suffering of fellow Christians."
The program asks participating bloggers to do two things:
1. Blog about the persecuted church at least twice per month using information gathered from the VOM website and the Persecution Blog. (www.persecutionblog.com)
2. Carry a banner on their website indicating they blog for the persecuted church.
Bloggers interested in joining the program can do so by going to the Persecution Blog and completing a brief subscription form found on the right-hand side of the home page.
VOM does not pay bloggers to participate. According to Cleary, "It is our hope bloggers will participate in the blogosphere program strictly because of their concern for persecuted Christians and the impact their participation will have in educating their readers, raising awareness, and generating concern."
