Silent Jihad

When I read an article about a Pastor who likes to take a courageous stand for Truth,  I love to tell everyone, because I think it's pretty rare. Today  I came across this article and thought it was interesting, especially in light of the on going discussion regarding Islam as a religion of peace.

Pastor Mujahid El Masih, is speaking on behalf of Voice of the Martyrs and sharing with his audiences the truth about Islamic jihad. For example he notes that ...

...the Quran – a 1,400-year-old holy book for the world's 1.5 billion Muslims – “is a book of corruption ... totally silly ideas” and that Muhammad was a “cunning and deceiving person” who spoke only of peace and tolerance when he was outgunned by opponents.

“There are more than 35,000 references to jihad in the Quran,” he said. “People think it is a peaceful religion, but lying is a part of that religion. They say one thing in English and another in Arabic.”

And he also goes on to say,

“My belief is to love them (Muslim Americans) by telling them about the truth of our Lord Jesus Christ. Their belief is to kill me, praise God.”

Which I think is a wonderful truth.  Jesus died for everyone, including the Muslims so that no one would have to kill themselves to get into Paradise.  However, Pastor Mujahid El Masih is not without his critics.  A Christian turned Muslim says this...

American Muslims are known as law-abiding, productive members of society who eschew many of the ills that plague the nation, such as drug and alcohol use, and sex outside marriage.

Meek also pointed out that American Muslims – motivated by Quranic calls to help the needy – have already collected $10 million in relief funding and supplies for the victims of Hurricane Katrina, $2 million of it in Texas alone. Globally, Muslim nations have pledged more than $1 billion to storm refugees.

“He has a right to his opinion. He's entitled to his view, as we all are in America. But he is distorting our faith,” said Meek, a convert to Islam from Christianity.

I would have to add personally that even though it may be true that some American Muslims are peace loving and have given aid to the hurricane victims, the overwhelming majority of the money that has been raised to help the victims of the hurricane has come from Christian ministries and organizations that were founded by Christians.  Let us not forget that fact.
