Prisoner Alert: Write Zhang Huamei

Remember the prisoners, as though in prison with them, and those who are ill-treated, since you yourselves also are in the body. - Hebrews 13:3

I have a confession to make.  As I was going through the Prisoner Alert page and deciding what prisoner I wanted to highlight, I felt so sad to see that only 581 encouraging letters have been written to Zhang Huamei. 

All of a sudden, I just felt overwhelmed because Zhang has been in prison since 2009 and in that whole time, it appears that barely anyone has written them.  I feel like crying, which is something I do more and more these days.

I think things like, "What if it was me in prison and no one wrote me, how would I feel?  Would I be strong in my faith?  Would I be discouraged... feel abandoned??"

Probably.  But maybe for our friends in prison, it's different.  I'm sure they have their moments like everyone, but I'm also confident that they are strong in their faith and that the Lord sustains them.

But how cool would it be, to know that a letter you wrote to them, encouraged them... think about it.  It's really very easy to write Zhang Huamei today.  Before I sat down to write this post, I wrote my letter and will be sending it today.
