Pray for Muslims During Ramadan
VOM: PRAY FOR MUSLIMS
On Sept. 1, The Voice of the Martyrs received a letter from the wife of one of many Christians being held in prison in an Islamic country. In her letter, she shared how her 3-year-old daughter struggles with her husband’s imprisonment and asked for continued prayers. Her letter reads:
“Thanks for your e-mail and love and prayers. I am doing OK. Worry tries to take over me and my mind keeps thinking worries I shouldn't. But the Lord continues to calm me down and give me peace and patience to wait.
This week [my husband] is supposed to receive some kind of answer from the court and another possible interrogation. Just waiting to see what happens and praying.
My daughter keeps asking about [her daddy] now and is really anxious to see him. She packed her suitcase a few days ago and said, "I am going to go see daddy." Her 3rd birthday is in 2 weeks and she keeps asking if [her daddy] will be here for her birthday. She doesn't know the situation as I thought it would be too much for her. I just told her that [her dad] decided to stay longer with his family because he missed his mom and dad so much. It breaks my heart that she is missing him so much and keeps talking about him and all of the stuff they used to do together (like taking her to the park ...).
Please continue to pray for us.”
This letter highlights the challenges Christian families are facing in Muslim countries. Many believers are being held in prisons because they refuse to recant their faith. VOM encourages you to pray for this family and many others who are asking God for their loved ones’ release. Pray for the children who do not understand where their parents are. Ask God to comfort them with the Holy Spirit.
