Praise God for Faithful Believers in Persecuted Nations

Of late, I am reminded of the importance of an intimate relationship with Christ. I find myself in a privileged position to learn what our brothers and sisters in chains are experiencing. I cannot help but look at their challenges, especially the wives of martyred believers who in the midst of great grief stand faithful in their relationship with Jesus Christ. These faithful believers have such a deep understanding of the price that their loved ones have paid for their belief in Jesus Christ. They have such an intimate relationship with the Lord.

Recently, I learned of the wife of martyred Christian leader, Bashir Tantray, from India who was killed in 2006, and the spouse of “Aaron,” killed in Laos, in 2005. Bashir’s wife said of her husband’s death,”my husband died like Christ,” and she has decided to remain in Srinagar, the location of Bashir’s martyrdom and continue his work. Aaron’s wife is in charge of four house churches and is joyfully working to win souls for the kingdom of God in Laos. As of February 2007, there were many thousands of believers in her area. These courageous women are an example of believers around the world who in the midst of enormous challenges, remain steadfast in their faith in Christ. Their relationship with God, and their commitment to winning the lost, challenges me to do more. The Holy Spirit constantly reminds me to uplift them in prayer. I encourage you to remember these families as you pray for our persecuted family around the world. Thank God for their faithfulness.
