Muslim Convert to Christianity Dies

Yesterday we talked a little bit about Christian persecution in Ethiopia.  Today I wanted to share with you another story from Ethiopia that truly saddens my heart.  As you read this, please think of the family and friends of the slain Christian, and remember them in your prayers.

While standing guard duty at a Lutheran church in Arisi Negellie, a village just 140 miles south of Ethiopia’s capital, Muslim convert Nesero Abraraw sustained three bullet wounds. The Christian guard and father of seven did not leave the scene alive after being fatally shot by an unknown gunman. Contacts for The Voice of the Martyrs Canada announced the arrest of several suspects in connection with the murder; however, the local police have been pressed by wealthy Muslim businessmen to set them free. Witnessing the relentless harassment and threats unleashed on local Christians by area Muslims, church members are certain that they strategically assassinated their brother in Christ.
