More News on the Korean Hostage Crisis: Another Threat to Kill Hostages

KoreanhostagesfreeWe are very thankful that two of the South Korean hostages have been freed from the terrorist Taliban, but we are still very concerned about the remaining hostages in custody.

Two days ago the LA Times reported that a group of leaders from different religious faiths, came together to request the freedom of the prisoners.  Among those requesting freedom were Muslims, Buddist's, Christians and Jews.  Here's a keeper quote, that is well intentioned, but well, misinformed:

"There is no religion that condones this inhumane crime," Rabbi Stephen Julius Stein, of Wilshire Boulevard Temple, said at a news conference at the Islamic Center of Southern California in Koreatown.

Actually, radical Islam, which is the Taliban, totally condones this behavior and murdered two of the hostages to prove it.  We here at the VOM blog, understand the sentiment behind the comment.

However, it is also being reported that negotiations have stopped.  Here's a quote from the national page of english.chosun.com

Taliban kidnappers have declared that negotiations with the Korean government for the release of 19 Koreans held in Afghanistan have collapsed. Some reports said the Taliban threatened to kill one or two more hostages unless Korea makes a genuine offer by Monday.

The Korean Times are also reporting that the negotiations are deadlocked.  Please keep praying everyone.  The prayers of righteous people, availeth much.
