Many Examples to Follow

Many thanks to those of you who have posted comments recently.  I really appreciate the feedback you're giving concerning the work of Richard Wurmbrand.  And it is nice to see that I'm not the only one touched by what he went through.  There is something inspiring about hearing about a faithful saint who doesn't waver in his devotion or faith in Christ.

This got me thinking today about the words of those we read in the Bible.  Moses, Paul, David, John, Peter and the others who penned the gospel accounts were all under persecution at some point.  Then there is Jesus, Himself, who bore all of our sin on the cross, but also dealt with the ridicule of His brothers, and then the betrayal of his diciples.

So I think we all have great examples to follow and be encouraged by when it comes to being persecuted.  I know that I tend to forget that the bible was written by persecuted Christians.  Which is why it is inspiring to actually see the past connect the present and know that when those saints were persecuted for their faith in the beginning of the church, that we, who are saints today,  can also stand under persecution, know that someday there will be a day when that will end.

The church always thrives and grows under persecution.  Please never forget that.
