Latest Voice of the Martyrs Prayer Requests

"You therefore, my son, be strong in the grace that is in Christ Jesus...Remember that Jesus Christ, of the seed of David, was raised from the dead according to my gospel, for which I suffer trouble as an evildoer, even to the point of chains; but the word of God is not chained. Therefore I endure all things for the sake of the elect, that they also may obtain the salvation which is in Christ Jesus with eternal glory" (2 Timothy 2:1, 8-10).

Here are a few of the prayer requests VOM is asking you to pray for this week.

Eritrea(Compass Direct)
At least 40 pastors, elders and leading laymen from five of Eritrea's banned Protestant churches have been arrested in the past two weeks in the capital of Asmara. Starting early on the morning of December 22nd, security police began tracking down leaders of the Church of the Living God, along with clergymen and elders in the Full Gospel, Rema, Hallelujah and Philadelphia churches. One Church of the Living God pastor escaped shortly after his arrest, and police have arrested a member of his church board and one of his parishioners. Police also raided a music shop operated by members of the Philadelphia Church, jailed all 15 people present, and shut down the store. The music shop was the main source of Christian materials, music tapes and books for Protestant evangelicals in Asmara.

Pray Jesus will give these prisoners a sense of His comforting presence. Pray Christians worldwide will plead with God on behalf of their suffering brothers and sisters. Pray the Holy Spirit will move to stop the attacks against those who are faithful to the Son of God.
