Yesterday I read this article at the Huffington Post and it is something that I think you may be interested in reading. Keep in mind as you read it, that the Huffington Post is extremely liberal and they typically do not find in favor of Christians, this article doesn't either, however since it mentions The Voice of the Marytrs, I want you to check it out.
Chris Rodda writes in their article titled The "Great Commission" and Iraq the following:
On May 28, McClatchy's Washington Bureau reported that a Marine in Fallujah had outraged the city's residents by passing out coins that read, in Arabic, "Where will you spend eternity?" on one side, and "For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish, but have eternal life. John 3:16" on the other.
The quick response from the military was basically that this was an "isolated incident" and not very common within the military. However, Rodda explains the following:
The majority of Americans will undoubtedly buy into this "isolated incident" line and be satisfied that the removal of this lone Marine will remedy the problem. But, the truth is that Iraq is crawling with missionaries and evangelists, both civilian and military, who show little or no regard for laws or military regulations. Why? Because the "Great Commission" from Matthew 28:19 -- "Go and make disciples of all nations" -- trumps all man-made laws.
The rest of the article goes on to detail some of the findings of Rodda concerning some Christian ministries that help the military and who encourage Christians in the military to share their faith.
Near the end of the article Rodda mentions The Voice of the Martyrs...
When asked in this report if his organization's activities can lead to people dying, Todd Nettleton, Director of Media Development for The Voice of the Martyrs, responds, "Our activities can lead to people dying, and we understand that...but, the reality is an eternity with Christ in heaven is so far better than an eternity in hell that it is a good deal. It's a good decision, even if it results in physical punishment here on earth."
Then in the comments section of the article Rodda comments...notice he's a fan of himself.

And these Christian comic books they give out can traumatize Iraqi children. There have been some reports of this that seem very credible. The comics generally start with something like a bombing in which Muslims are killed, and end with the message that any Muslim who has died without converting to Christianity and being saved by Jesus is now burning in hell. Just think of what this does to an Iraqi kid whose Muslim friends and family members have just been killed.
One comic book from Chick Publications not only depicts Mohammed, but shows him kneeling down in the fires of hell saying that Jesus is Lord.
And then this totally unbelievable comment from Chris Rodda...

At the end of the article Rodda links to a video that actually has a number of mistranslations in it, from Mikey Weinstein. It was a video on the Military Religious Freedom Foundation website, a left leaning organization. Click here to view the 9 minute video, and watch closely for the mistranslations and also the way they twist the words of the people highlighted.

The Voice of the Martyrs is weirder than most organizations that are doing this for their own salvation. They actually want Christians to be persecuted because persecution "inspires" other Christians. Here's how they put it:
"The persecution of Christians is something the organization would rather embrace than prevent. It is their suffering, VOM believes, that inspires other Christians and helps the church to grow."
