Depressing Christian Persecution?
Recently I was asked how I manage to blog about something as "depressing as Christian persecution" and all I could do was smile and say that it is an honor, a blessing and a challenge to do my best to represent my faithful brothers and sisters in the faith who are daily living for Christ, and knowing that to live is Christ, and to die is gain.
Don't misunderstand me when I say that Christian persecution, at times, isn't depressing to write about. But there is a GREATER picture we see and a GREATER purpose that we seek and understand when we remember that our brothers and sisters in the faith are being persecuted for God's greater glory.
Let's take the situation right now in Afghanistan with our friends who are being held captive from South Korea. Do you not realize that the Lord is using this situation to bring us all to pray for them and the nation of South Korea and Afghanistan? It's true!
Even the President of the United States is now fully aware of the persecution going on with our South Korean friends.
Also, you have to look at the WITNESS of these precious saints as the whole world knows that they are being held, in part, supposedly, because of their faith in Jesus Christ. How is the church responding to this situation - in love right? Doesn't that magnify the Christ they are serving. YES....
So when people ask me how I can write about "depressing Christian persecution" all I can say is that it's a blessing and an honor because I know that the Lord is using that persecution to further His purposes, which are GREATER, and to purify His Bride.
Isn't that cool?
