Last week VOM received the wonderful news that the High Court in Tanzania had thrown out the charges against Eva Abdallah, a young Christian woman who had been falsely accused of urinating on a Quran and sentenced to two years in prison.

This month, VOM's newsletter focusses on writing letters to Christians imprisoned for their faith. From the earliest days of its ministry, VOM has encouraged readers to write letters to Christians imprisoned for their faith. In prisons around the world Christians are suffering today because of their Christian faith Farshid Fathi in Iran. Eva Abdallah in Tanzania. Asia Bibi in Pakistan. They are praying and dreaming of the day they’ll be released; the sweet moment they’ll be reunited with their families.

Today I'd like to ask you to take action and write a letter of encouragement to Farshid Fathi. We've shared Farshid's story with you before, but I think it's important to remind you of the opportunity you have to be an encouragement to him while he's in prison.

Today I'd like to remind you of a very committed brother in Christ who has been in prison almost 700 days because he converted from Islam to Christianity. Farshid Fathi has was arrested on December 26, 2010 and is a Christian convert from Islam. He is currently serving a six year sentence in Evin Prison, which is one of Iran's most notorious prisons.

Please take a few minutes to pray today for Pastor Behnam Irani who has been in prison for his faith in Jesus.
