In today's Extreme Devotion I was reminded that there is no such thing as an unanswered prayer. The faith of these believers also inspired me to want to continue to stand for Jesus and not be ashamed of the gospel of Christ that delivers us from all sin.

Yesterday I didn't post our normal Extreme Devotion, so today I thought I'd share with you this devotion from that wonderful book published through The Voice of the Martyrs.

It's Monday and I hope all of you had a wonderful weekend. Mine was very nice attending the GodBlogCon at Biola University this past weekend where we had the opportunity to share the ministry of The Voice of the Martyrs. Today's devotion is from the book Extreme Devotion and it was encouraging to me because it reminds me that our walk of faith is not always comfortable and can often be challenging. If you are being challenged today, remember God is still very near to you.

I love beginning every Monday with a devotion from the book Extreme Devotion and the reason why is because these devotions inspire my faith and help change my attitude when maybe my attitude isn't so great. More persecution—more growing!

This is an awesome Extreme Devotion that I received in my email this morning. As I read through this I was thinking about how often the enemy of our souls, the devil, attempts to counterfeit what God has done - and it ends up being poison. Read on and be blessed.

Hebrews 9:27 tells us that, "... it is appointed unto men once to die, but after this the judgment." and I love this passage because it gives me confidence in knowing that the Lord will not take me home to be with Him until that appointed time. So the story of John is inspiring and also draws us back to worship the One who made us. We must obey God rather than man is the thought that went through my mind as I read this Extreme Devotion. Think about it...it's very easy to 'say' we obey God, but do we really do it, and would we do it if our lives were on the line.
