Whose Example Do You Follow?
Happy Monday Everyone! I hope you are having a wonderful day and I thank you for coming to visit our blog. I really appreciate all of your emails, prayer requests and encouragement.
This morning, as I was doing my bible study in Philippians, I read Philippians 3:17 - 20 which says...
Brethren, join in following my example, and observe those who walk according to the pattern you have in us. For many walk, of whom I often told you, and now tell you even weeping, {that they are} enemies of the cross of Christ, whose end is destruction, whose god is {their} appetite, and {whose} glory is in their shame, who set their minds on earthly things.
As I was thinking about this passage the question came to mind, "Whose example do I follow as a Christian? Is it some Christian celebrity or is it someone like a persecuted Christian?"
Well, if I'm going to be honest, I'd say probably both. There are some Christian leaders I have tremendous respect for, however, the more I get to know the persecuted church, the more I want to be like them because they are following Jesus.
I am constantly humbled and amazed at their responses to persecution because they never revile or seek revenge. Instead they rejoice and they seek our prayers. I want to be more like that....don't you?
