The Prayers of Christian Wolfkes

Screen shot 2010-10-06 at 2.20.10 PMHave you ever felt like all you can do is pray for an unsaved loved one?  Do you have a friend or family member who you still long to find the love and grace of Jesus?  If this is you, may I tell you a little bit about Christian Wolfkes who is an old German carpenter who is credited with praying Richard and Sabina Wurmbrand into the kingdom of God in 1938.

My guess is most of you didn't know who Christian Wolfkes was, just like most of us do not know the names of the many others who led other prominent Christians to faith in Christ.

But the good news is that the LORD knows and He is the one who draws all to the Father.

Christian Wolfkes died during World War II and also during that time the Wurmbrand's were put in prison for their faith.

However, did you know that the man who led Christian Wolfkes to faith in Jesus was a man named Pitter?  If you're like me, probably not.  Which just goes to show you that their is a lineage of faith in all that we do.  I know for me, my friend Gail, will always be the person I remember as sharing Christ with me.  And I know it was her grandmother and her mother who led her to Christ.  Before that, I don't know.

What I do know is that the LORD knows and so our prayers are never in vain.  So, keep on praying for your friends, family and even strangers you do not know, because you never know which one of them may be the next Richard Wurmbrand who begins an international ministry.
