The Double Lives of Iraq’s Christian Children

Screen shot 2011-10-11 at 11.54.58 AMThe following news from Compass Direct is heartbreaking.  However, this story tells us the pressure and the stress of living in a Muslim country where being a Christian is very difficult.

This story shows the decisions that Christian parents have to make in regards to their children.  Is it better to live openly as a Christian and not have the children worry about saying Christian things or singing songs about Jesus, or is it better for the children to have to live a double life and hide their faith in Jesus.

Then at school, the children have to go to a school where Islam is taught and if the children reveal they are Christians they can be beaten.

Admittedly, the parents of Christian children have struggled with how to raise their children and even admit not evangelizing as much because of the persecution they have to endure.

In America, we can't even begin to relate to the pressure Christians in Muslim dominated cultures have to endure.  When you pray, please remember the children of devout Christian parents, as they could be easily confused by the dual role their parents are showing them.
