Thank you, Luis Palau
I believe that one of the qualities required for greatness in the Kingdom is the ability to admit when we have been mistaken or wrong. King David is a Biblical example of a man willing to see his own shortcomings; one who mourned them greatly before God.
As I was quick to take evangelist Luis Palau to task when he spoke in favor of the Chinese government and urged Christians in China to register their churches, I want to also be quick to applaud his statement of regret for his remarks. (Read Palau's statement HERE.)
Palau said, "It's not my role as an evangelist to suggest that churches in China should register. My role is to proclaim the Good News of Jesus Christ."
I am thankful for the doors that God has opened for Luis Palau in China, and thankful that he has courageously walked through them. I share his love for that nation, and I join him in praying for an outpouring of God's Spirit there, that many thousands more Chinese will come to know Christ in a personal way.
I am also thankful for the thousands of courageous Chinese believers who have risked their comfort, safety and even their lives to follow the call of Christ wholeheartedly and without compromise.
God is at work in China! He is working within the walls of the registered church, and He is working in the houses, fields and even caves where unregistered church groups meet.
God bless you, Mr. Palau. May He continue to make ways for you to preach the Good News in China.
