Seven Victims of Christian University Massacre Laid to Rest

Last Monday, April 2nd, the world watched as news outlets covered the horrific events that were unfolding at Oikos University in California.  Sadly, by the following day we all learned that seven members of the Christian University had been killed by One Goh, a disturbed former classmate of the victims.

Yesterday, there was a memorial service to remember the victims.  Please continue to pray for the families and friends of the following victims:

Katleen Ping, 24, of Oakland; Tshering Rinzing Bhutia, 38, of San Francisco; Judith Seymour, 53, of San Jose; Lydia Sim, 21, of Hayward; Sonam Choedon, 33, of El Cerrito; Grace Eunhea Kim, 23, of Union City; and Doris Chibuko, 40, of San Leandro.

Oikos University also continues to heal from this tragedy and has set up a memorial fund to help the victims families during this time.  The Oikos website reads, in part...

SFGate is reporting the following:

University President Jongin Kim said 16 nations are represented among Oikos' enrollment of a few hundred students. He promised that the school would reopen.

"We may be a small institution," Kim told mourners, "but we believe that God has greater purposes and has led our school to this point for a reason."

The shooting at the school, which was founded by an evangelical Korean pastor, has been followed intensely within the Korean American community. Two of the victims were Korean Americans, and Goh was born in South Korea.
