Remember those in chains

Easter season is a time of reflection and gratitude for me. Even though I am thankful daily for Jesus Christ’s death on the cross, Easter intensifies my appreciation and I find myself reading, reflecting and meditating on the Book of Luke. In my opinion, the life, death and resurrection of Jesus Christ is the most important event in history because it brought me into a relationship with Him and changed my life forever.

Attending church services on Easter “Resurrection” Sunday is bittersweet, if you remember believers in more than 40 nations around the world who do not have the freedom to celebrate the life, death and resurrection of our living Savior, Jesus Christ. Some of our persecuted brothers and sisters will risk their lives celebrating Easter this weekend, while others will meet in underground churches and some will remain in prisons because of their faith in Jesus Christ.

As I look forward to wonderful music and a powerful message this Easter Sunday, I encourage you to join me in praying for our persecuted brothers and sisters around the world. I thank God for salvation and freedom to worship Him, but my prayer is that He encourage and protect believers in restricted nations who will face persecution for worshipping the Risen Savior.
