Remember Egypt's Coptic Christians on this Day of Remembrance for Victims of 9.11.01
Today is the eleventh anniversary of September 11, 2001 and here at the Persecution Blog I can't help but think of the thousands of victims of Christian persecution who have lost their lives because of Islamic Muslim terrorists who have killed them.
We have covered for years the news of Christian persecution from the Muslim world, and today is no different except that in our politically correct day and age, it's just unpopular to state the clear truth.
When we mention the source of the persecution, this doesn't mean we are haters or bigots or even people who are saying that all Muslims and followers of Islam are terrorists and killers, because that's not true. However, what is true is that faithful followers of Islam, who obey what Islam teaches and who practice jihad, simply cannot be ignored. Right behind communism, militant Islam is the number two persecutor of Christians worldwide.
Since today is the eleventh anniversary of 9.11.01 I am not surprised to see the leading headline (at the time of this writing) is coming out of Egypt where mostly Islamic protestors are burning the American flag and scaling the walls of the U.S. Embassy in Cairo. CBN News and The Drudge Report are reporting similar details about this horrific event taking place:
Here's just a little from USA Today via The Drudge Report:
As we remember the victims of 9.11.01 and the events today remind us again of the attacks that take place all of the time against Christians. Please remember the Christians in nations like Egypt where being a Christian often costs your life. Please also say a prayer for the victims of 9.11.01 and also the families of martyrs all over the world who have lost their loved ones to the sword of Islam. Even just as important, please pray for those followers of Islam, who practice jihad, to come into a personal relationship with Jesus Christ. He is the only way, the truth and the Life and only He offers eternal life and forgiveness of sin.Reuters reports that protesters tried to raise a black flag carrying the slogan: "There is no god but Allah and Mohammad is his messenger."
The news agency says about 2,000 protesters have gathered outside the embassy and about 20 have scaled the walls.
The AP says the protesters were largely ultra-conservative Islamists.

After the protest, the U.S. Embassy issued this statement on its website:
The Embassy of the United States in Cairo condemns the continuing efforts by misguided individuals to hurt the religious feelings of Muslims รข?? as we condemn efforts to offend believers of all religions. Today, the 11th anniversary of the September 11, 2001 terrorist attacks on the United States, Americans are honoring our patriots and those who serve our nation as the fitting response to the enemies of democracy. Respect for religious beliefs is a cornerstone of American democracy. We firmly reject the actions by those who abuse the universal right of free speech to hurt the religious beliefs of other
