Put In Prison for Feeding Children

Mission Network News is reporting today that Christians continue to be persecuted in Uzbekistan.  Many Christians are being put in prison or fined for simply sharing their faith with children.

One example of this is "Baptist deacon Pavel Nenno in Uzbekistan who was sentenced to 15 days in prison for feeding needy children. According to Forum 18, other believers say that he was simply "feeding neglected children from poor families." As a result, Nenno's home was raided by NSS secret police and he was jailed on March 27. He was quickly released but was later brought in for further questioning, resulting in his 15 day sentence."

The Mission Network News article goes on to share more incidents of this type of persecution, which I find amazingly sad.

However, despite these horrible instances of persecution for ones faith, we can know that each time a brother or sister is persecuted, that the words of our Lord Jesus Christ are being fulfilled, as He stated in Matthew 5:10 - " Blessed are those who are persecuted because of righteousness, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven." - You can't get more right than feeding children.

Please keep in your prayers our family in Christ who are standing for righteousness and serving Him despite their suffering.
