Elizabeth Prodromou, vice chair of the Commission, tells OneNewsNow the Senate and the House have both passed resolutions that focus on the ongoing persecution of religious minorities in Iraq.
"They really are constituted around targeted violence, threats, and intimidation, and they even threaten the very existence of many of the country's smallest religious minority groups," she explains.
Prodromou adds that the minorities are receiving insufficient protection from Baghdad, and since 2003, many of the minorities have fled to neighboring countries, where they have become refugees. But those who have stayed in Iraq have faced increasing persecution, she lamen
