Never Forget the Families of Martyrs

This week while I was reading about our persecuted brothers and sisters in different parts of the world, I was reminded about the families of these precious believers. When you hear of pastors in India being attacked by Hindu extremists or house-church members beaten and tortured in China, do you ever wonder how their families must be hurting? I certainly do.

As a wife and mother, I cannot imagine the pain our persecuted family experiences when their loved ones suffer for their faith in Jesus Christ. I am thankful and encouraged believers around the world count it a privilege to suffer for Jesus. Most importantly, I am challenged to never let their sacrifice be in vain. I take it as my responsibility to pray for and remember that their lives count greatly in God’s Kingdom. May our prayer for these families be for God to comfort them, assuring them that their loved ones have received crowns no one can take away. (Revelation 3:5, 11)
