Miriam: A Kid of Courage Learning Forgiveness

Yesterday I highlighted one of the families who lost their father during the tragedy that happened in Turkey earlier this year.  Today, I want to share with you another family that was also impacted by the horrific events of that day.

The father, in the picture, is Tillman - he was murdered by those who didn't like Christians.  Miriam, his youngest daughter, was very sad and angry when her father was murdered.  This is a totally normal reaction and she is to be commended for feeling what is totally normal.

However, Miriam didn't really understand how to give forgiveness until her mother started telling her about it.  As a result Miriam said the following to her mother,

“I want to see them,” Miriam told Susanne.(her mother) "Maybe they will become believers. Then they can go to heaven. In heaven they can tell Daddy they are sorry.”

Can we all say that out of the mouth of babes we can learn a lesson!  I know I never would have thought to come to someone who killed a relative of mine (and fortunately that has never happened) and tell them about Jesus so that they could go to heaven and then apologize to my relative.  That is awesome!
