Maryam Jalali Freed from Evin Prison

According to Farsi Christian News Network (FCNN), the three freed detainees named Maryam Jalali, Mitra Zahmati, and Farzan Matin were initially arrested on Thursday, December 24, 2009; along with 12 other believers who had gathered at a private residence in the Pakdasht are of the city of Varamin, to celebrate the birthday of Jesus.

The individuals were initially held at a local detention center and later moved to the infamous Evin Prison in Tehran.

On January 4, 2010, 12 of the arrested believers were conditionally set free, but Maryam, Mitra, and Farzan were held in detention until March 17, 2010, just a few days before the arrival of the Persian New Year, and set free after 80 days in captivity. Ms. Jalali is a married woman with 2 children.
