Indonesian Muslims Disrupt Christian Service

CWNews.com – Christian churches are being closed on the island of Java, but some Christians are fighting back by holding prayer services literally out on the streets. This has made radical Muslim groups even more determined to stop them.

For six consecutive Sundays Lutheran, Presbyterian and Pentecostal Christian churches have been holding joint worship services outdoors.

The Christians say this is the only place left where they can freely worship God after city officials ordered their churches closed.

Christians believe the local governments were acting under pressure from the Islamic Defenders Front, or FPI.

At the worship service attended by CWNews the FPI led a crowd of more than 1,000 Islamic radicals in trying to intimidate the Christians. "
