Indonesia: Church Closed by Muslim Mob

This past Sunday, August 21st a Muslim mob invaded a church in Bandung, Indonesia and demanded that the church stop all of their activities and close their doors.

Here's what happened...

Around 10 a.m., during Sunday morning worship, hundreds of radical Muslims entered Pasundan Christian Church, founded in 1956, in Dayeuhkolot, South Bandung. The church has an attendance of between 300-400 members.  And this isn't  the first time Pasundan Christian Church has come under fire.  According to a report on Public Affairs and Religious Liberty Department of the Seventh Day Adventist Church website, Pasundan Christian Church was burned down in 2001.  (And if you do a search on Pasundan Christian Church in Google you will also find a lot of pictures and other stories about the other persecution they have endured.)

The Muslim mob that attacked the church was from the Anti-Apostacy Movement Alliance (AGAP), a group opposed to any Christian outreach to Muslims in Indonesia.

There are more Muslims in Indonesia than in any country.

It is also very important to note that the three Indonesian women who were arrested and who are currently being held because they were having a "Happy Week" are located in this part of Indonesia.

Please pray that Christians in Indonesia will continue to work and witness in spite of of persecution.  Pray also that the Lord would reveal Himself to the many Muslims in that country and that they would come to know Christ personally.
