Christian persecution in Ethiopia is our focus for today's news items. It is being reported by the Voice of the Martyr's Canadian office that a March 21st riot in Ethiopia left several believers wounded, and one Lutheran church guard hospitalized in critical condition.
A concerted Muslim attack on Christians in Kemisse, Ethiopia, about 220 miles northeast of Addis Ababa, left three churches burned, a World Vision field office ransacked and several Christian businesses damaged. The good news is that there have been no deaths reported, but the violence and damage inflicted by the large Muslim mob would have been far more extensive, had not the Ethiopian army restored order throughout the village. Fearing future attacks, many Christians fled to the safety of a nearby village.
