Hindu Activists Assult Christians in India.
I'm seeing more reports of anti-Christian actions coming out areas in India. In my opinion the trouble lies in the fact that Christianity values every person as equal in God's eyes. This can be a problem in a culture where the prevailing religion is hierarchical in nature like India.
Here's a report I found on Sify News detailing a group of 500 Christians returning from the ordination of a priest of the Mising community.
As they reached Kamalabari Charali in Majuli subdivision, they were threatened and assaulted by a group of people, who accused them of converting tribals and threatened to cut them "into pieces."
Before threatening the group, "some local residents including women stopped the vehicles and asked them the reason for their coming to the island," Horo said."Father Caesar Henry, the principal of St. Antony's High School, Mariani and Father G P Amalraj, the principal of St. Xavier's High School were pulled out from their vehicle and manhandled at the Kamalabari petrol pump. They (the group) kicked them and punched them in their stomach," he added.
My prayer is that the community will see the grace with which the priests and nuns and fellow Christians reacted to this incident and that the Holy Spirit would work upon their hearts.
