EGYPT- House Churches Growing Amidst Persecution

Christians in Egypt have targeted planting 70,000 new house churches by the year 2020.

The Voice of the Martyrs received information from a contact who recently visited Egypt that house churches are growing and Christians are determined to worship God in the midst of persecution.

“When you visit Egypt there is a hunger inside the people for the truth, and those who seek it find it. There are people determined to worship their God in the midst of persecution,” the VOM source said.

While in Egypt, the source came across a local newspaper article complaining about VOM’s Bibles Unbound program which sends New Testaments into restricted nations. The article’s writer was not happy about VOM’s goal to send Bibles into Egypt. However, VOM will continue to build the church and assist believers with Bibles, the greatest tool, to help reach Egypt for Jesus.
