East Asia Summit Appeals for Release of Korean Hostages
It appears that most of the American press has basically forgotten about this story with the hostages. I guess caring about Christians and wanting them free from militant terrorists isn't a very high priority. Well, never fear dear readers, we will continue to alert you to any news that is taking place with the hostages.
Today we learned that an East Asia Summit is asking for the release of the remaining hostages.
“The foreign ministers of the participating states of the East Asia Summit …expressed deep concern over the recent sad turn of events concerning the abduction of innocent citizens of the Republic of Korea,” the statement read.
Reuters is reporting today that South Korea wants more talks with the Taliban terrorists. However, there isn't much hope that anything will happen because the Koreans have stressed they have no power to persuade Kabul to
free Taliban prisoners and that it is a matter for the Afghan
government to decide.
And the Afghan government is saying that they will use force if ultimately talks between the terrorists and the Korea fail.
Meanwhile, The Korea Times is reporting that the terrorists are "losing patience" with Korean negotiators.
And lastly, the English edition of www.english.chosun.com is reporting similar details as we mentioned above, except they include the name of the lady that willingly gave up her chance for freedom, when the other two ladies were released, as Ji-young.
Please keep this situation in your prayers and let others know about it also.
