Is preaching what the bible says about homosexuality a crime? If you answered no, then you may be surprised by this story that is making the rounds all over the web. According to the Telegraph, a UK based website, "Dale McAlpine was charged with causing “harassment, alarm or distress”
after a
homosexual police community support officer (PCSO) overheard him
reciting a
number of “sins” referred to in the Bible, including blasphemy,
drunkenness
and same sex relationships."
The homosexual police officer said McAlpine was preaching so loud people could hear him, and McAlpine says that he told a passing shopper he believed homosexuality is a sin, and wasn't preaching this at the top of the ladder.
And this is an interesting case because here in America, we now have hate crimes laws that have been passed, which could potentially be used the same way the Public Order Act is being used in the United Kingdom.
