While we should trust even when there is no earthly reason to trust, our true tendency is to doubt when there is no reason to doubt! God has showed Himself faithful over a million times - And yet, thousands of people cry out to Him every day in fear. Lord, may You gain Your goal - a people wholehearted to You, who are consumed with Your desires...and not with earthly situations or spiritual enemies.

Trust is a lesson God never stops teaching us. Even once we think we've got it "down pat", He takes it to a deeper level, peeling back the layers until He reaches something that resists His pulling. And there is - there is that heart, that tender part that rebels at His touch on it's raw, sentient flesh, no matter what we say. God has ways of stretching us, and He does it constantly to mature us until we are Christ's very image, pure, refined gold. Lord Jesus, have Your way in us!

This isn't meant to sound like I have super faith, but often God shows me His way is better. Waiting on the Lord can be hard, but I've seen His hand work things out for the good of us that love Him. So I will keep pressing on in Christ, trusting He knows what's best.
