"The Jesus Freaks Minute" airs on Christian radio stations nationwide. Each month VOM creates and sends out 12 radio spots sharing the story of a persecuted Christian or another believer totally sold-out for God. Some stories come from recent VOM headlines; others come from the pages of Christian history. And some offer a challenge from the Scripture itself, like this one which will air this month:
[INTRO SONG LYRICS:] What will people think when they hear that I’m a Jesus Freak? What will people do when they find that it’s true?
[TOBYMAC:] Hey, this is TobyMac with truth every Jesus Freak should hear from the Voice of the Martyrs:
[VOM:] You know First Corinthians 13. The love chapter. “Love is patient. Love is kind. Love does not envy -- does not boast. Love bears all things. Hopes all things. Endures all things.” They read it at weddings. Print it on posters. Well here’s an idea. Put your name there.
Donna. Sean. Tia. Whoever you are. Can you really say “Donna is patient.” “Sean is kind.” “Tia does not envy.” Insert your name in every verse of 1 Corinthians 13. Ending with “Love never fails.”
Then go a step further. Ask yourself, “Are you loving only people who are easy to love?” That’s no sacrifice. A Jesus Freak loves the unloveable. For more from The Voice of the Martyrs, go online to persecution.com.
[YOUR TURN:] Have you heard The Jesus Freaks Minute on your Christian radio station? Have you heard stories of persecuted Christians? Contact your Christian radio station and encourage them to talk about the persecuted Body of Christ!
Some of the stories told in Jesus Freaks Minute radio spots are taken from the book, Jesus Freaks, by DC Talk with The Voice of the Martyrs. Order your copy online now.

Jesus Freaks is an amazing book! Learning about the commitment of my persecuted brothers and sisters in restricted nations made a life-changing impact on my walk with the Lord. I served as an Area Representative for a couple of years until I had to stop because of health issues. I miss it so much, but pray everyday for them and share with anyone who will listen.

Hey, we did that at our church too back in the early 80's. We put our own name in 1 Corinthians 13 too! It stuck with me, and I stuck with it! I love the parts: keeps no record of wrongs, and hopes all things, bears all things, endures all things!
