Dear Friends:
![]() |
We always give thanks for you in our prayers because of your efforts on behalf of our persecuted brothers and sisters around the world.
Asia Bibi, a Pakistani Christian wife and mother, was arrested in June 2009, after Muslim co-workers accused her of insulting the prophet Muhammad. In November 2010, Asia was convicted under Pakistan's blasphemy law and sentenced to death. She has appealed her sentence and remains in prison awaiting the Lahore High Court's ruling.
Last year, Pakistani Christians started a petition demanding justice for persecution victims, including Asia Bibi. Please join The Voice of the Martyrs and our Pakistani brothers and sisters in the Call for Mercy petition campaign. We hope to gather 1 million signatures on behalf of our sister Asia, asking that she be allowed to return to her husband and daughters, and allowed to continue her life.
The petitions will continue to be delivered to the Pakistani Embassy in Washington, D.C., and we are encouraging our contacts around the world to work through the Pakistani Embassy in their particular countries to emphasize that people around the world are watching this case.
We have collected more than 600,000 signatures since the campaign began in July 2011, and with your help we can reach our goal of 1 million signatures. Please sign the petition and encourage your friends to do the same at www.CallforMercy.com.
Thank you for standing with Asia Bibi and other persecuted Christians in Pakistan. Your involvement makes a difference!
In God's service,
VOM Staff
